Advanced Window Glass Design:
 

Advance Window Glass Design, AWGD, performs all required calculations to design window glass according to ASTM E 1300-16. This software also performs window glass design using ASTM E 1300 09, ASTM E 1300 02/03/04, ASTM E 1300-98/00, and ASTM E 1300-94.  The Glass Association of North America (GANA) endorses the Advance WindowGlass Design Program as being the best tool available to aid in designing window glass to resist wind and long-term loadings.  Members of the GANA technical council served in program development and each now uses a copy of the program.

This software package is SDG's most comprehensive analysis and design package for glass to date.  

  • Carries out all computations in ASTM E 1300-16 (and, in the near future, earlier versions)

  • This includes computations associated with the E 1300-16 Analytical Method.

  • Uses ASTM E 1300 methodology to facilitate design computations for Jumbo glass up to a long dimension of 10 m (400 in.) depending on nominal thickness and edge support.

  • Uses ASTM E 1300 methodology to facilitate design computations for probabilities of breakage of 1 lite per thousand.

  • Allows users to seamlessly create load combination, including loads of different time durations.

  • Performs calculations for non-rectangular glass lites (by the bounding rectangle approach).

  • Incorporates effects of elevation and temperature change in Insulating Glass load sharing computations, limited to the Analytical Method.

  • Allows user to pick from PVB of Ionomer Interlayer materials for laminated glass or specify parameters for custom interlayers

  • Allows users to design to a specified probability of breakage (Analytical Method).

  • Allows users to design to a specified maximum principal tensile stress (Analytical Method).

  • Allows users to design to a specified deflection limit.

  • Facilitates calculations for three-ply laminates.

  • Facilitates calculations for triple-glazed IG units.

SDG will issue a license for AWGD valid for one year.  If you wish to continue using AWGD, you must renew annually.  Failure to renew the license will result in AWGD not operating.  Standards Design Group must do this to continue operating and providing technical support.  For every year your serial number has expired you will be charged an annual fee until that amount equals the cost of a new purchase.
